GIRLS AND BOYS MIDDLE SCHOOL BASKETBALL TRYOUTS

 WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 1ST AND 2ND

 GIRLS TIME:  3:00-4:30

BOYS TIME:  4:30 -6:00

 MUST HAVE PHYSICAL AND REGISTRATION TO PARTICIPATE

REGISTER EARLY, WHEN THE SLOTS FILL UP WE CANNOT ACCEPT ANY MORE REGISTRATIONS

 (5TH GRADERS ARE ONLY ASKED TO PARTICIPATE IF NEEDED)

 

 

Parents are responsible for coordinating their rides for their child.  Virtus training for drivers is not required because the school is not responsible for coordinating carpool rides.  

All students must have an Aquinas sports physical to participate in practice, try-outs or games.  Registration has begun and teams fill up quickly.  Please turn in all paperwork to Mrs. Reale as soon as possible to be added to the team.  All athletes need the Fall Registration form, Aquinas sports physical, Concussion form, Uniform Agreement, Transportation form and registration fee to be considered registered for the team.  All of these forms can be found on the webpage.

Practices are announced by the coach and will not be posted after the first week.  Please listen to the coach for dates and times of practices.

 

Aquinas offers the largest Middle School Athletic Program in the Arlington Diocese.

General facts pertaining to all sports:

  • All athletes must have an Aquinas sport physical, dated after June 1, 2017 to participate in any sport. The form can be found in the school office, clinic or on this website in the forms box on the left side of this page .
  • Each team needs a team parent to help schedule car pools and an end of the season party.  If interested please contact Mrs. Reale.
  • Parents who are driving other athletes to away games and leaving school before 3:00 must provide a copy of a current drivers license and auto insurance.
  • Please see “Process for transportation to away games” in the forms box on the left side of this page.
  • All  practices will be announced by the coach or team parent.
  • Courtesy to Coaches: If you cannot make a game or practice, please notify your coach, so they can plan accordingly

2016-2017 Aquinas Recap:

  • Aquinas Boys Soccer team came in 4th place in the VCAC soccer tournament.
  • Aquinas Girls Varsity Volleyball came in 2nd place in the VCAC volleyball tournament.
  • Aquinas Boys Varsity Basketball team came in 1st place in the VCAC basketball tournament held at St. John Paul the Great High School.
  • Aquinas Girls Varsity Basketball team came in 2nd place in the VCAC basketball tournament held at St. John Paul the Great High School.
  • Aquinas Girls Soccer team came in 3rd place in the VCAC soccer tournament held at Linton Hall School
  • Aquinas Varsity Girls & Boys 6-8 small school Track team came in 1st place in their division at the Diocesan wide track meet held at Bishop O’Connell High School

Cheerleaders

Girls Soccer – Practices will be on Wednesdays and Fridays at Vets Park 3:30-5:00.  The first practice will be Wednesday, April 5th

7th & 8th Grade Track – practices will be Tuesdays & Thursdays starting 3/28 3:15-4:45

6th Grade Track – practice schedule in posted in the middle school hallway

Boys Baseball – parent meeting will be held Tuesday, March 28th right after school.  Location Ms. Zengierski’s room (8A).

Softball – practices begin at Belmont Elementary on April 4th (Tuesdays/Thursdays)

Regular dismissal, but your student athlete is changing for practice/game:

Please park in the middle of the school parking lot, stay in your car and follow the procedures for late pick-up.

Early release for game:

If you are driving a carpool, please plan ahead and ensure your license and proof of insurance are on file in the school. Pull into the circle in front of the school if you are driving a carpool.  Student athletes will be dismissed out to your car and you may leave to travel to the game.
