Volunteer Requirement

All Aquinas families are required to volunteer 10 hours per school year; 5 hours each semester (please review your tuition contract for additional details). While there is an option to buy out your volunteer requirement, we encourage you to instead take advantage of the many opportunities to volunteer. It is a wonderful way to get to know those in our community. Important: all volunteers working with students must be Compliant as defined by the Diocese of Arlington. Please see below for the steps to meet this requirement.

Please use the button below to access our volunteer management platform and your account. You will use this account to signup for all activities sponsored by the school. This system also tracks your volunteer hours and your Compliance status and will be used to reconcile completed hours with required hours at the end of each semester. For any questions regarding this platform, please email volunteer@aquinastars.org.

How to become a Compliant Volunteer?

All Aquinas volunteers interacting at any level with our students are required to be compliant. A Compliant Volunteer has completed BOTH of the following:

  • Completed an electronic background check – instructions on how to obtain the electronic background check can be found here.
  • Attend a required Virtus training session offered by the Diocese of Arlington at locations throughout the Diocese on multiple dates during the year. After completing the electronic background check above you will receive an auto generated email that will include the link to register for a Virtus session within the next 45 days.

If you have already attended a Virtus session and/or completed a background check through another Diocese of Arlington entity/organization (religious education, youth ministry etc) please email jmcnulty@aquinastars.org and include your full legal name.
