Middle School Curriculum

The Aquinas middle school program encompasses students in 6th through 8th grade. Students attend school from 8 AM to 3 PM each day; half days are 8 AM to Noon. Middle school students are assigned a homeroom but move throughout the day to the assigned classroom for each subject.

The middle school offers a challenging curriculum that provides opportunities for success in academics, fine arts, and athletics while focusing on effective study skills, organization, and time management. Learning is accomplished through interactive and collaborative academic projects. All middle school students participate in the following specials at least one time per week: Art, Music, PE, and Spanish. For qualifying students there are opportunities in STEM, Advanced Language Arts, and the Spanish for Heritage Speakers programs (click here for more information and to apply). All middle school students are eligible to participate in the Aquinas sports program and the annual Middle School Musical. Our faith is an important part of our school day with daily school prayers and weekly school Mass and the Virtues in Practice program.

Aquinas uses a combination of textbooks, workbooks, and technology for daily school work always being mindful of screen time. All students are assigned a Chromebook at the start of the school year for use in the classroom and at home.
